{sunday youth cell meeting }
I am so excited today that we had the youth cell meeting .... so i
decided to write this mail and update you all on the meeting. We were
abt 8 of us who attended this meeting. We had amazing time of praise
and worship led by Sobin . And the best part of the meeting was the
Bible sharing on Matt 18 : 1-5 . We divided our self in groups of
three and discussed our view on the passage . I was blown over by the
way each one had such amazing things to share. Bellow is a just
sharing few thing that touched me :
The fist question that came to my mind ( my group ) was why did the
disciples ask Jesus the the question of who is the greatest at that
point of time ---> the answer lies in the previous chapters we see
Jesus performing great miracles, healing the blind curing the sick ,
feeding the 5000, calling the Pharisees hypocrites.
The disciples were just a bunch of fisher men, and their culture
taught them that the Pharisees and the temples priest were the
greatest and the closest to God. Then They saw Jesus dong such a
amazing thing and Jesus also question the practices of the Pharisees
----> so i guess they were a bit confused on who's is the greatest In
the Kingdom of God
Then Jesus tell them Unless you """"" CHANGE"""" like little children
you will not inherit the Kingdom. Remember he doesn't tell us to act
like little children, but change our character to those of a child.
So the first stage is CHANGE -----> change to what ====> change to a
child .
Now lets look at what are the qualities and what we need to learn from a child:
1. Among the greatest qualities of a child would be humbleness. IF we
look at any 6 yr old kid they are so sweet , i mean you wouldn't find
any kind quality in them that desires status .... unlike us guys !!!
some thing to ponder on !!!
2.The second most amazing thing we find is submissive behaviour, it is
but natural that a kid should obey his parents i mean, that's the ways
it has always been. What the lord is trying to tell us is be
submissive to me, obey my commands.
3. We also see how a child also has total Trust on his dad for every
thing, i bet when we were kids we never had a second thought that that
our dads would not provide for what we demanded. There are also time
when our dads didn't get us certain thing we wanted for a for reasons
he alone knew what was right. In the same way we need to totally
trust God as our Dad who will provide for a needs.
4. When Jesus said change like a child , he also meant stop using your
logic and intellect when it come to understanding the the Kingdom of
God, just believe.
5. We also discussed one area of a child's behaviour that's of
forgiveness and forgetting. If we look at two kids fighting they would
be really fighting like crazy ppl ( that's wat my nephews do ) , the
smaller one would end up crying. But in an hour they would be playing
again like best of friends and never even remember the fight. Amazing
isn't it !!!
These were some more point that were discussed , but if continue
writing i guess i will never finish . I hope these points has
refreshed your mind ( for those who attended ) and for those who
didn't attend, i have written this especially for you .
