Here is a mail i revd frm a friend on how one should choose his life partner and it really blew me off!
It is based on Genesis 2:15-18:
"The LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to till it and keep it. And the LORD God commanded the man, "You may freely eat of every tree of the garden; but of the tree of knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall die." Then the LORD God said, "It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper as his partner."
In the beginning, Adam was alone. In verse 15, we see that God put him in the garden to till it and keep it. In other words, before giving him a wife, God gave him a career or a vision for his life.
Then, after the man knew his vision, God decided to provide him with a wife who was to be his helper and partner in that vision.
So, before choosing a wife, a man should know what his vision for life is. When he knows his vision correctly, he will be in a better position to choose a wife who will be able to be his helper and partner in that vision. Similarly, while choosing a husband, a woman should see whether she can be a suitable helper and partner to the man, in other words her vision should also be the same.
Many marriages fail because the husband and the wife have conflicting visions. That's probably the reason why "love affairs" tend to break up very often, for the boy and the girl are too young to know their visions, they get attracted at an early age, and then, when they realize that they have conflicting visions, they break up.
I hope this revelation will help many of you who are unmarried to choose a good life partner :-)
