What you are about to read may seem incredible but it is true as the word of God and the Saints inspired by the Holy Spirit tell us so.
Some of us have gone through this phase and some of us are probably experiencing it right now!
Whatever it may be, spiritual inertia is something we all go through, repeatedly. This feeling creeps in when you just don't feel like praying, or reading the scriptures or talking to people etc, almost like a `Spiritual Shutdown' where you feel your going nowhere. Sometimes certain circumstances lead you to this state of mind and spirit, or sometimes it just happens for no rhyme or reason. Getting over this inertia is difficult. You feel like as if your whole world has come to a full stop and you just can't seem to move on. You and I both know that's not true. It is a phase we can all overcome. (and millions have overcome!)
Instead of constantly blaming others or ourselves in a horrible cycle of Self-pity and bitterness, we must realize that these phases happen because unseen to us there are dark powers at work that are pulling us down and influencing us negatively. (Eph - Ch 6:12)*
Feelings of Insecurity, Self-pity, Depression, Frustration, Rejection do not come from God, they come from the enemy of all mankind, Satan who is waiting like a roaring lion to harm us in all ways (1Peter 5:8)*.
One of the things that have worked for many youth during these times is constant praise. Even just saying the name of Jesus, has given us the strength to start overcoming this inertia. During these times we often have to push ourselves to read the Bible, but when we have done it, the feeling of triumph is wonderful. Amen!
Reflect and see why this inertia has happened. You Might have invited Evil into your lives by the Following:
Psalms 107:7 "Some were sick through their sinful ways, and because of their iniquities suffered affliction"
Romans 6:13 "Do not yield your members to sin as instruments of wickedness, but yield yourselves to God as men who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments of righteousness."
- Work & Studies have taken 1st priority in your life
- A relationship has gone bad or isn't working out
- A relationship that is going great guns and you are ignoring `The Word' and thanksgiving time with God.
- Unforgiveness, Jealousy and Quarrelsome attitude towards family members.
- Feeling too high about one's Beauty, Sense of Style & Physical attributes
- Evil, Gossip and Abusive Expression (Verbal and Written form)
- Friends that are a Bad influence
- Materialistic Attachments, obsessions & fetishes
- Lack of endurance while being tested from time to time
- Sexual Perversion, Masturbation & immoral habits.
- A sense of pride that you can do everything
- Addictions like Smoking, Doping, Horror, X-rated Movies, Drinking, Drugs etc.
- Involvement in Occultic activity, Zodiacs, Idolatry, Numerology, Palmistry and Black Magic
Most of the reasons mentioned above slowly lead you to a Spiritual Inertia that some of us never realize.
No matter how much we entertain or addict ourselves to get away from this oppression we keep getting pulled down into the dumps and things become unpredictable, and our spiritual life takes a complete back seat. Prayer and reading the word of God is one of the greatest weapons we have against the powers of evil and if you notice that's the first thing you stop doing when Spiritual Inertia sets in. Even Satan knows the scriptures and that is why he is even more alert and persistent so that he can keep us from reading "The Word of God" which has the formula for Satan's Defeat.
What should you do?
ü Avoid shutting off from the World and getting into self-pity
ü Pour out your heart to a spiritual counselor who can give you the right guidance
ü Share your Burden with loyal & trustworthy friends (In person/SMS /email) who can pray for you.
ü Fellowship with other fellow Christians, thus offering your brokenness with constant, praise and thanksgiving to the Almighty father.
Acts16:24 - 26 Having received this charge, he put the apostles into the inner prison and fastened their feet in the stocks. But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them, and suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and every one's fetters were unfastened.
Our Constant Praise, Thanksgiving and Worship of the Trinity keeps Satan and his evil spirits at Bay. For them this is a great torment to hear the Father, Son and Holy Spirit being praised. (Millions of People around the world have repeatedly testified of freedom by true praise and thanksgiving throughout the centuries) Our ignorance or indifference towards Satan & his Demon's existence is one of the best advantages for him! (Some think its intelligent & Modern to think that there is no Satan and Evil forces, it's all within, but this is the greatest Folly) An Enemy that is invisible can harm you the most, because you don't realize that you need to defend yourself. In addition, remember Evil evolves with the times and as its end objective is Misery, Deception and Terror to snatch you away from the Kingdom of God.
What do you do?
Put on the SPIRITUAL ARMOR of God and join in this Spiritual War. (Eph:6.13 – 6.18)*

ü "The Blood of Jesus"
ü "Sword of the Word of God"
ü "The Fire of the Holy Spirit"
ü "Sincere Prayer & Intercession"
ü "Praise & Thanksgiving at all times"
ü "Adoration and Worship of the Trinity"
Your Companions in this Spiritual Battle:
Ø Jesus Christ
Ø The Holy Spirit
Ø Angels of God
Ø Saints of God
Ø The Anointed Ones (Priests, Pastors, Counselors, Prophets and Teachers)
Call upon/Act upon the above weapons when you Struggle and see the peace that descends on you & your family.
When you are suffering or praying for someone remember to Cast your Physical & Spiritual burdens to Jesus and he will give your rest. (Mat 11:28)*
To be realistic he never goes away from us, it's we who go astray like lost sheep, but when we call out and repent with a sincere heart he hears us and takes us back to the fold. (Isa 59:2)*.
At times the lord allows trials to make us stronger and realize the truth so that we help others in turn.
Hold onto the faith that you have been blest with and if you still feel that God has left you, it is written…(Isa 49:15)* (Rom 8:38)*
God our creator wants us to be happy and that's why he's sent Jesus (John 10:10)
Finally, the Parents and Elders should Humbly and Intensely submit to the word of God and motivate their children with Gentleness, Positive energy and Understanding. And the youngsters should respect and pray for their Elders with sincere love in their hearts. The word of God is spiritual food for all minds, which would protect us from all evil and lead them into all truth.
