I die every day -- By Bro Milton

hi guys !!

How u all doing !! ... this Thursday was really nice especially with the talk given by Bro Milton . I thought i would share with your'lll some few points which Milton spoke on

Milton started this Thursdays talk by asking us are we afraid Dying, Bringing the whole topic of Orissa attack. Some times we are so scared about death, But the bible has a lots to say abt dying.

But as we know it death is only once . But the bible say in 1 corth 15: 31 st paul says" I die every day" . So wat is this "death " the bible is talking abt.

If you and I are really serious Christian then you and need to understand this concept of death very firmly.

Again let is look at at 1 corth 15: 31 --> i die every day .

col 3: 3 says ---> "For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God."

Luke 9:23 says ---> "If anyone would come after me ( Jesus ) , he must deny ( die to ) himself and take up his cross daily and follow me "

So from these versus we can understand that there are mainly 2 areas in our lives we need to Die to :

1) flesh nature ( the opposite of this is "being led by the spirit " )

2) selfish nature

These two nature can be identified ithe following versus :

col 3:5 --> Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature:

Sexual immorality,

Impurity

Lust

Evil desires

Greed, which is idolatry.

col 3:8 --&;

But now you must ( rid / die to ) yourselves of all such things as these:

Anger,

Rage,

Malice,

Slander, and

Filthy language from your lips.

More than the days of St paul, i would say that these sin full areas are more prevalent now in this age than ever before. If we totally understand what st. Paul is talking abt, then sin is knocking at at our doors every minute. How much more would we have to die to our flesh nature now than ever before.

In our prayer time we need to seek the lord, so that the spirit can bring to light the areas in our lives we need to die to . The gospel of James ( Jam 1:21) urges us Christain ( now than ever before ) to live holy lives. He say " get rid of all ( every kind of ) moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent ( in our surroundings ) and humbly ( with out using to much logic ) accept the word planted in you, which can save you.

!! How do i die to self ( my flesh nature | selfish nature ) !!

the simple answer to this is :

Gal 5:20 " I ( my flesh nature ) have been crucified with Christ and I ( my flesh nature ) no longer live, but Christ ( the word ) lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. "

this verse just simply says --

stop feeding - ( starve ) your self with carp thoughts ( self pity, situation that you have no control of , pondering on things that never exist , anger, sexual thought..etc ..etc )

start feeding you self that with the word. ( read the bible, memorise bible verse, read christian magazines, listen to Christian talks, always listen to Christian music, fellowship with with frnds in christ )

Hope this this talk by our Bro Milton has encouraged us to continue living a victorious Christian life .
