Psalm 62.
David believed in his heart that God was his true source of peace, strength and security. Therefore, he was ready to make that declaration of his faith.
Verse 1 & 2 - "My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I shall never be shaken."
David acknowledged the reality of the danger he was in from the attacks and threats of his enemies. But, he still repeated the same declaration of his faith in God.
Verses 5-8 - "Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I shall never be shaken. My salvation and my honour depend on God; He is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your heart to Him, for God is our refuge."
David understood his own insignificance when seen in the light of 'Time and Eternity'. But, he knew that he was significant to God whose love and support for him were eternal.
Verses 11-12 - "One thing God has spoken, two things have I heard: that you, O God, are strong, and that you, O Lord, are loving."
