The distinctives of leadership
1. A Christan leader is a Christan
a. He has excepted Jesus Christ as his personal lord and saviour
b. we are all sinner Eph 2: 8-9 -- ( For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—
and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9not by works, so that no one can boast )
c. We live a life of trust in Jesus.
2.- A Christan leader is a committed follower of Jesus
a. To walk and be like Jesus in every aspect
b. If you want people to follow jesus they will look at your lifestyle
c. our walk as a disciple depends on the core relationship with Jesus.
d. you need to live the Scriptures and not quote it !!!!
3.- the Christan leader's source of truth = THE BIBLE
a. as a disciple we nee to read the Bible daily along with our pray time.we nee to have a
concrete plan on the bible reading .
b. We need to read books written by anointed men of God . Read books on leadership.
c. the greatest desire for Jesus for you is to win SOULS .
4. - A Christan Leader emphasise on Godly character
a. if we are called to do amazing thing for the lord we need to have godly character.
b. Just as Ambassador of a nation , we stand as Ambassadors for Christ , We Represent Christ .
How important is Character
Sow a thought, reap an action;
Sow an action, reap a habit;
Sow a habit, reap a character;
Sow a character, reap a destiny
The Following Two verse talk about character qualification as a leader .
( 1 )
Gal 5:19-23 : 19 --
The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and
witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy;
drunkenness, orgies, and the like. ( these are the characrtes in our sinful nature )
I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
But the fruit of the Spirit is
love ----- joy ----- peace ----- patience ---- kindness ----- goodness ------- faithfulness ------ gentleness
------ self-control.
Against such things there is no law.

1Tim 3:1-10 --
Here is a trustworthy saying: If anyone sets his heart on being an overseer ( disciple ) , he desires a noble task.
Now the overseer must be above reproach
, the husband of but one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, 3not
given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money.
He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him with proper respect. (If anyone does not
know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God's church?)
... He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil's trap.
they are to be men / woman worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain.
... They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience.
5. ---> A Christan leader serves through Power of the Holy Spirit
a. the Holy spirit guides us in wining souls
b. zah 4:6 - 'Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the LORD Almighty. --- none of the above
hold true with our the guidance of the holy spirit
