Where is Your Treasure?
Luke 12:34

"Wherever your treasure is, there your heart and thoughts will also be" Luke 12:34 (NLT).

This is a very familiar verse, one that is often quoted, but do we really live by this principal? Do we truly consider where our treasure is?

People often ask me how I find time for certain things and I have a simple answer: We do what is important to us. It's the same with money; we spend our money on what's important to us. If we are unsure about where our treasures are we can look at these two things in our lives (where we spend our time and money) and we will quickly discover where our treasure, our thoughts, and our hearts are.

The things we place the most importance on are the things we make time for, the things we spend our hard-earned money on; and, if our time and money spent do not reflect the things we claim are important to us, then, perhaps, it's time to reevaluate our priorities, because Jesus makes it quite clear that what we spend our lives pursuing are the things we find important—the things we treasure.

We all need to take time regularly to reevaluate the things we value, because those are our treasures; just as today's passage says, those are the things we think about, the things we hold in our hearts—the things we place eternal value on.

"Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. - Psalm 91:14

God will protect His own. Love is the avenue in which we can minister to God and we can recognize who He is by acknowledging His name. At the same time it is God who rescues us and lifts us up higher than the dangers at hand.

See, there is great power in God's Word – but we have to speak it to activate this power. We have to confess it out with our mouths in order for the power to be released so it can work for us. Jeremiah 23:28-29 Let the one who has my word speak it faithfully ... [29] "Is not my word like fire," declares the LORD, "and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces?" SPEAK [God's Word] faithfully - all kinds of positive things will begin to happen, and all kinds of obstacles and opposition will begin to be broken.
If we really understood how powerful God's Word is we would use it every day! Isaiah 55:11 "So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it." God's Word is full of power. It will accomplish what God desires. It won't come back void, but will achieve the desired result. See, we've got a powerful weapon. It's not just a sword – it's the sword of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit is all over that sword. It's not a carnal weapon – it's a spiritual weapon. It has spiritual power. When we have this weapon, we are well-able to stand against satan. That's why I say: Praise God for the sword God has given us! It's not just any sword – it's the sword of the Spirit!

"Now may the Lord of peace himself give you his peace at all times and in every situation." 2 Thes. 3:16. You can have peace in every situation and at every time in life. No matter what you are facing, you can have peace because you serve a God of peace. You've got the Prince of Peace, the Jehovah-Shalom, the God of peace living inside of you! Let his peace rule your heart and don't be moved by circumstances in life.

No matter who you are, no matter what you've done, no matter where you come from or anything else about you - God has a great plan for your life! "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jer 29:1. Don't miss out on his awesome plan for your life. In Mark 10:22 Jesus tells us, "Have faith in God." Faith is your confidence and trust in the Lord. It is relying on Jesus. And Jesus deserves to have your trust! He has proven himself to love you by dying on the Cross for you. Others may have promised and failed, but Jesus never fails. You may have counted on someone, but they disappointed you. But Jesus will never disappoint you. He is the only one worthy of your faith. So lift up your hands and say today, "Lord, I will trust in YOU!"

Maybe you are just hoping Jesus will heal you, give you a job, meet your financial need, Help you breakthrough in your education or in your marriage. But friend, God has something more for you. He doesn't want you at the bottom, he wants to lift you up. He doesn't want you to have the scraps, he wants to give you a feast. He doesn't want you to have just enough to get by – he wants to make you a child of the one true King. He wants you to be seated with him in heavenly places. He has MORE for you than you could ask for or even imagine. But there is something you must do - you have to come to touch him in faith today.

2 Corinthians 4:6 "For God, who said, 'Let light shine out of darkness,' made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God's glory displayed in the face of Christ."
The same God who created light out of darkness is the God who wants to shine light into your life right now. The same God who said, "Let there be light," and there was light – he is the same God who is making his spiritual light shine in your heart right now. He does this so that you can know him. And the face of Jesus Christ is the light bulb of mankind. The face of Jesus is what God uses to reveal himself to us.

We often come to God for something we need. Most of us pray to God for something specific. Lord, heal me; Lord, help me. But God always wants to do more for you than just meet that need. He will meet it – he will heal you, he will help you, he will open the door and give you the breakthrough. But his goal is always more than that. He wants to meet your need and show you his face.
2 Corinthians 5:17-21 "This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. So we are Christ's ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, 'Come back to God!'" In these few powerful verses, we get baptized with the truth about our identity in Christ. When Christ comes into our hearts, we get a new identity. We get a new life. We get a new Master – for we belong to Christ. And along with that new identity, we get a new sense of purpose. Christ has brought us into his family and given us the task of representing him to the world. In fact, the Bible says, "We are Christ's Ambassadors."
Lord, thank you for all your blessings! Even when the thunder is heavy, I know I can count on You, my lovely Bodyguard! Who can fight against You? Heavenly Father, only You know my plan, only You can determine my present, and I don't need to worry about my future, it's in your hands.
Thank you Lord, for an amazing day, full of blessings and happiness, mistakes and rightness; a simple, but perfect, living day!
Tonight, strengthen our bodies, let us rest in your arms, let us feel your protection closer to our souls, to embrace another good morning start, accepting with a humble heart, that everything will be according to Your Stunning Plan.
Amen.
